Thank god it’s a Claes Iversen
The show was inspired by religion. With the cross details on the clothes, skirts till knees and save white boards. Even the runway was cross-shaped! Amen.
It’s a bit of a mindset thing. I mean, at 6 October in the middle of Autumn (in Holland the weather is very disappointing at this time of the year, what else is new) designer Claes Iversen showed his spring/summer collection at “Zuidpark Amsterdam.” The location was perfect for his show, a little bit sober and dark, It’s an old empty factory. When I entered, the lights were dimmed and it was silent. No music, just people whispering to each other. It made me a little bit nervous.
Then the show started, an intriguing atmosphere was created by music and models, who were walking with ‘empty eyes.’
The clothes were great, hand-made! A lot of big bows and XL-high shoulders. Straight forms and feminine silhouettes.
Next to the religious glitter outfits there were some summer prints with orange poppy. The color pallet varied from white, beige till orange/pink/red and green/grey.
Subtle glitter and the simplicity in some outfits made it a strong collection. I am looking forward to the summer! Thanks Claes.
Love, Ivvy-Chloé
