Blog: Let’s paint the desert
An impressive Spiritual dance act opened the Amsterdam Fashion Week 2012. Sjaak Hullekes had the honor to fill in the 1st show with his men’s collection “Gemstone” AW2013.
Tiny boxer shorts and muscled male models caught our attention. But the attention quickly returned. “Well made men’s clothing” is the middle name of Sjaak. All his clothes are handmade with great fabrics. Natural shades in combination with the Arabic music brought me back to my vacation in Morocco. The atmosphere was very intense. The clothes and his “sensitive-underwear” line are very wearable.
The accessories caught my eyes, this men’s line has beads around the neck in all sizes! Next to the beads, these goodlooking men were also wearing hats, gloves and big shawls.
One thing I found really special was a blouse shirt he showed. Normally you expect a fabric like cotton for a man blouse shirt. This time Sjaak used a woven satin fabric. It looked amazing!
Are you curious for his gear with a warm tinge? Take a look at the runway photos in our slideshow.
