A couple of days ago I read in an article that the biggest fashion inspirator of miss Gaga was Thierry Mugler, so ofcourse I just had to check that out. And voila, I found this great video on fashion tv. And although Lady Gaga wasn’t there she really ran the show.

PARIS – Nicola Formichetti may be well known for his collaborations with Lady Gaga for Thierry Mugler, but even after the Gaga madness, the show must go on for the Mugler designer in Spring/Summer 2012. The pop star did not make an appearance this time (except on screen of course) and the collection did not receive rave reviews as it did in Fall 2012 but it was still a stellar showing.

“She is my muse,” says Formichetti, who seems to make the label all about her, “I want her to be here.” They created a video around her which was projected to the audience and Formichetti called her brilliant. It was hard to take your eyes off Gaga on the screen but she was not literally there which meant the clothes would have to speak for themselves.

This time, sheer fabrics did not make an appearance and neither did latex. But cutouts were still in abundance. Formichetti said he wanted to show a different softer side of the collection. “I have to give him credit,” says Bergdorf Goodman’s Linda Fargo, “I think he took the DNA of Mugler, but I think he totally morphed it.”
